Standing within the Cairn on Rippon Tor watching the moon from the water of Lyme Bay, casting its shaft of light. I remember Dorothy's 'ill-cleaned brass plate'.

The moon rose large and dull like an ill-cleaned brass plate, slowlt surmounts the haze, and sends over the calm sea a faint bright pillar.
