His daily experiments capture the unfolding of light over hours or even days by prolonging the exposures and then producing an image that condenses all that cosmic circling and burning into a steady state on the paper, on the wall. Yet, even while stilled into a photograph, the image pulsates from the intensity of the illumination that went into its making.
